Project Smile
Sometimes a Smile is All It Takes
Project Smile is a high-school-based charitable organization that aims to improve the pediatric patient experience by donating toys to different hospitals across the country. Through donating customized gifts to pediatric patients, we hope to alleviate some of the fear and stress often associated with a pediatric hospital stay.
Our motto, “sometimes a smile is all it takes,” reflects our mission to spread smiles in pediatric hospitals wards across the country. Sometimes a smile is, indeed, all it takes to move a pediatric patient one step closer to recovery.
Our Mission
We have been pursuing two ambitious goals since our founding in 2014:

1. Improve the Pediatric Patient Experience
Through donating toys to hospitals, spearheading initiatives to improve pediatric mental health, and helping high school students to positively impact their local communities, Project Smile aims to improve the pediatric patient experience
2. Shape the Next Generation of Health Care Leaders
The Project Smile leadership team is dedicated to enabling high school students to:
-
Develop core leadership skills through establishing and leading a Project Smile Chapter
-
Acquire a deeper understanding of the U.S. Healthcare system, patient experience initiatives, and health inequities in their local communities

High school students from across the country are welcome to start their own chapters of Project Smile
